First-Time Swimmer Guidelines at Woof N Goof Pet Resort

 Introducing your pet to swimming for the first time can be an exciting and enriching experience. To ensure a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable session for both you and your pet, please follow these guidelines: 

1. Arrival Information 

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your booking time. The gates may be closed when you arrive; there is a bell on the right side of the gate—please ring it, and our staff will assist you shortly. Kindly note, it may take a few minutes for the staff to open the gate. Limited parking is available inside the resort. In case the parking is full, our staff will guide you to nearby parking options outside the premises. 

2. Keep Expectations Realistic 

Every pet is different. Some may take to water immediately, while others may need time to adjust. The first session is about building comfort, not performance. 

3. Your Involvement 

During First Swim For pets trying swimming for the first time, they tend to feel more confident and secure when their family member get into the pool with them. Your presence helps reduce anxiety and builds trust, making it easier for them to adapt to the water.

 If you prefer not to enter the pool, you can walk alongside it during the session. Our staff will guide you on how to support and encourage your pet from the side to ensure a safe and comfortable experience. 

4. For Human-Reactive Pets 

If your pet is reactive towards unfamiliar people, our staff will guide you through the swimming process from across the fence. 

In such cases, you may be required to take a more active role in handling your pet, with step-by-step guidance from our team to ensure safety and a smooth experience.

 5. Follow Staff Guidance

 Our trained staff understands pet behavior and swimming readiness. Please follow their instructions throughout the session to ensure safety and a smooth experience. 

6. Feeding Guidelines 

Do not feed your pet at least 1 hour before and after the swimming session. This helps prevent discomfort and ensures a safer experience. 

7. Do Not Force Your Pet 

If your pet seems hesitant or scared, avoid forcing them into the water. Building confidence gradually leads to better long-term results. 

8. Focus on a Positive Experience

 Encouragement, patience, and a calm approach go a long way. The goal of the first session is to create a positive association with water. 

9. Post-Swim Care

 Your swimming package includes a shampoo and blow dry after the session. Kindly assist our staff if your pet is not comfortable during the grooming process, as your presence can help keep them calm and cooperative. 

10. Consistency

 Helps Just like any new activity, regular sessions help your pet become more comfortable and confident in the water over time. 

11. Advanced Activities

 Activities like diving or going down the slide should only be attempted once your pet is fully comfortable and confident in the water. Rushing into advanced exercises may cause stress or injury, so always progress at your pet’s pace.

12. What to Bring 

You don’t need to carry anything for your pet. The only optional item is a favorite toy that can go in the water—if your pet doesn’t have one, that’s perfectly fine. Our staff will use other methods to help your pet feel comfortable and confident in the pool. For humans, please remember to carry your swimming essentials. We have a changing booth available at the resort for your convenience. 

13. Continuing Swimming Lessons

If you feel your pet enjoyed the session, would like to continue swimming lessons, or believe swimming can benefit your pet’s health, you can inquire about subscription options with the supervisor at the facility.
